Viral social media videos can raise pro-social behaviours when an epidemic arises

Abstract Access to information via social media is one of the biggest differentiators public health crises today. During early stages Covid-19 outbreak in January 2020, we conducted an experiment Wuhan, China assess impact viral content on pro-social and trust behaviours preferences towards risk taking with known unknown probabilities. Prior experiment, participants viewed two videos that had been widely anonymously shared Chinese media: a central government leader visiting local hospital supermarket, or care volunteers transiting Wuhan.
